We are building a new way for businesses to take care of their employees’ development through automated coaching - informed by insights from psychology and adult education. All without leaving their normal workspace in Teams/Slack or using additional apps.
We have recently raised funding from Gorilla Capital and a group of angels who share our vision about a more accessible form of coaching.
About the Role
We are still early, so don’t be too worried about all of the responsibilities or technologies. Roles can be crafted to fit your interests and personal abilities. We'd prefer you to have at least two years of relevant experience from applied machine learning, but we are ultimately looking at potential - not just skills.
Key Responsibilities As an AI Engineer at Panda you will:
- Create innovative, sophisticated analytic models to address critical issues but also meet key business criteria (cost/risk/business impact) and key technical criteria (reliability/validity/predictability).
- Identify and advocate for technical options related to machine learning, data mining, and other statistical approaches.
- Document feasibility requirements, code comments and other technical documentation required to transfer knowledge to other technical staff and management.
- Collaborate on developing effective Dashboards to surface insights to senior leadership.
- Develop predictive and optimization models for key applications.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest trends in data science and machine learning.

- NLP Engine: Node.js, Python, BERT language transformers, Hidden Markov Model
- Database: MongoDB
- Infrastructure and Deployment: AWS (EC2, CLI, Beanstalk), Azure NLP

Automata theory, Conversational interfaces, Academic and/or industry experience with standard AI and ML techniques, NLU and scientific thinking, word2vec, hidden markov model, genetic algorithms, data augmentation, feature optimization, exploratory data analysis, Keras, Pandas, Scikit, turing machine, text vectorization, one-hot encoding, bias detection, AutoML, Explainable AI methodology.

The Details
- Hours: full-time, but we are of course flexible.
- Starting: ASAP
- Location: fully remote, even though many of us reside in Helsinki.
- Clients: Our clients include companies like Universal, KONE, Mindvalley, and Skanska
- Our tech team: You will be working with our technical team and our CTO, who has 11 years of experience in the roles of Solutions Architect, IT Management, Software Dev, Product Owner, Data Scientist, and DevOps. He left Amazon European HQ to join Panda Training.
Process:
- Introductory chat (20-30min) - exploring both your and our motivations and backgrounds with our COO.
- Technical chat & coding interview (30 - 60min) - going into more detail with our CTO along with a live coding interview which includes a few exercises.
- Final chat (30 - 45min) - final questions and practicalities before the final decision.
