Machine Learning Engineer (offline)

Mandatory

● At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
● Strong Python skills.
● Excellent knowledge in at least one Machine Learning framework, preferably PyTorch or
TensorFlow.
● Strong knowledge of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.
● Excellent use (both oral & written) of the English language.

Nice to have:
● Experience in designing and developing Python backend services and libraries for Machine
Learning applications.
● Ability to comprehend and implement research ideas and academic publications, demonstrated
by experience in research roles or a postgraduate degree.
● Familiarity with popular ML and NLP libraries like scikit-learn, spacy and transformers.
● Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms like docker and kubernetes.

Key Accountabilities

Prototype research ideas
● Investigate research ideas, based either on academic publications or developed internally, and quickly prototype and test models based on these research ideas.

Design and implement ML algorithms for NLU
● Deliver implementations for ML algorithms, using computational frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow and NLP libraries like spaCy and transformers.

Contribute high-quality code to our production codebase.
● Write well-tested and optimized Python code that supports model inference and model training workflows. Contribute to the development of Omilia’s ML and NLU software stack (APIs and libraries).

Stay up-to-date with advances in NLP.
● Stay up-to-date with research in NLP and NLU topics, like dialogue state tracking, intent and
entity recognition, language modeling etc.

Contribute actively and effectively as an integrated team member
● Meet regularly with the line manager to review progress.
● Manage issue resolution and critically escalate.
● Work effectively with other teams, units, and departments.
● Manage issues with clarity and ensure effective information flow and team working.
● Support other organization’s priority activities, when necessary.
● Act as an Omilia ambassador.
