Network Engineer (offline)

Responsibilities
- Design, install, administer, and maintain core networking and telecommunications infrastructure to meet project and firm needs; including design, hardware selection and preparation, configuration, and administration
- Evaluate network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure needs of the firm. Make hardware, software, and vendor recommendations.
- Manage the firm’s telecommunications infrastructure, including vendor selection, needs determination and specification, order placement, and vendor management
- Develop, implement and maintain guidelines, procedures, documentation and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and appropriate use
- Assist other IT teams to coordinate, develop and recommend the design of functionally centralized and distributed network systems to meet the needs of the firm
- Coordinate, develop, and execute programs for continual measurement of the firm’s information systems performance and effectiveness. Evaluate reports to identify and correct deficiencies and irregular operations
- Participate in overall network administration, maintenance and standards implementation

Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in information technology related field of study with a network engineering focus, or equivalent work experince.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable and flexible when necessary.
- Network security experience.
- LAN and WAN experience.
