Software Engineering Manager for Leia Labs (offline)

What You'll Do
Leia Labs is responsible for developing key technology pieces for Leia Lightfield products. These include but are not limited to: Android applications development, Computer Vision and Deep Learning-based Lightfield models development, Cloud Infrastructure development for the whole range of company products.

As a Software Engineering Manager for the Leia Labs, your role will include both software engineering and people management responsibilities, including but not limited to:
● Be a leader for Leia Labs. Manage, guide and mentor multiple teams of engineers with their leads.
● Provide technical mentorship by organizing development process, facilitating architecture discussions, participating in code reviews, promoting direct communication, helping build development guidelines and workflows, etc.
● Ensure teams comply with the company-wide best practices in software development, quality, security, onboarding, release management, etc.
● Collaborate with Product, Design, and other Engineering stakeholders to prioritize deliverables, set realistic expectations, estimate timelines, and define key features.
● In collaboration with US management evaluate engineering roadmaps, identify personnel needs, and make hiring decisions. Grow the team with key hires to build a team that works as a whole towards product deliveries.
● Ensure the teams run agile scrum-like development process: sprint planning, review, daily scrum, delivery, retrospective in order to ensure timely delivery and quality software.
● Organize the build of lean proof-of-concepts to validate products.
● Guide the team to build, test and deploy SW applications and scalable systems with modern tech stacks.
● Critically evaluate new and existing technologies to ensure scalability.
● Protect user data and privacy by guiding the team to build systems with security in mind.
● Maintain focus on the big picture while being able to deep dive into specific components.

What You'll Have
● You are a team player, positive leader, great communicator and strong technical professional respected by the team.
● Experience in all three of: Android dev, CV/ML dev, Cloud dev.
● Actual products delivered to production under your supervision.
● Ability to analyze existing sw and come up with a plan to develop new features and overcome existing architectural limitations for that.
● Ability to work across team boundaries in multiple domains in order to ensure teams collaboration for delivery of the final product.
● Experience with media pipelines in Android, including working with ExoPlayer, Camera2, Surface/SurfaceTextures, SurfaceViews and TextureViews, FFmpeg, etc.
● Experience developing backend cloud systems in AWS for mobile and/or web applications.
● Experience in developing ML models and their use in actual products.
● Experience developing CV or image/video processing pipelines on android, ios, linux or embedded devices.
● 3+ years of leading software engineers and leads/managers
● 5+ years experience as a developer for Linux/Android/iOS/Win applications.
● Expertise in Java and/or Kotlin
● Experience with the Android Native Development Kit, using C or C++
● Experience with real-time graphics using OpenGL ES is a plus
● 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment
● BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
