DW/BI Engineer (offline)
WE ARE
Our client is one of the biggest delivery services in the world. They operate in 13 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide. They are providing people with limitless access to different cuisines and restaurants, turning cooking from a chore to a choice, and giving people the freedom to eat what they want when they want, where they want it. They operate one of the most complex three-sided marketplaces in the world, and they do this in real-time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants and riders rely on our client to match them within milliseconds. The algorithms behind that marketplace are the secret sauce that allows them to deliver our orders in under 30 minutes.
Currently, all global users access the same platform infrastructure and when infrastructure breaks all global users are impacted by any issues or outages. Currently, services have to process data for all our global markets and there is a limit to how much they can be scaled.
We are aiming at dividing our markets across five different shards. Breaking down a single DB into geographically distributed shards will allow distributing order volume as much as possible (GeoSharding). Our goal is to migrate ETL pipelines, data processes, reports, queries, and standalone processes to use a new DRN format instead of the current identifiers.
YOU ARE
• Possessing at least 3- year experience in software engineering
• Skilled in SQL
• Familiar with data warehousing, data modeling concepts, and structuring new data tables
• Having a real advantage of cloud-based MPP data warehousing (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
• Expertised in managing the administration and/or adoption of a data visualization tool (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
• Knowledgeable of and familiar with SQL ETL/ELT, DAGs to manage script dependencies
• Showing good communications skills across all levels of stakeholder (business & technical)
• Demonstrating Intermediate strong+ English level
