About the role:
The UI/UX Developer will gather design requirements and user feedback, identify workflow and design challenges, devise and design solutions, and work closely with Marketplace team to create user-centered designs for our Marketplace brand. This person will have the opportunity to participate in all disciplines under the umbrella of “UX/UI Development”.

What you will do:
Establish and apply standard UX/UI patterns for existing/new applications
Work with team members to research, define and execute UI design for projects
Mentor others on standard UX and UI design patterns
Frequently interact with peers, equivalent level leaders and senior leaders on cross-functional matters
Performs other related duties and activities as required

Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the development teams to create best-in-class web-based solutions for our customers in the insurance space
Conceptualize and design UI/UX mock flows for web and mobile friendly interfaces, which may including building wireframes, high fidelity mockups, and clickable prototypes
Create UX design proposals to promote ideas and concepts to stakeholders
Work closely with the Digital Marketplace team to provide rapid support and feedback on tasks involving UI design, UX journey analysis and configuration to ensure a consistent approach to the user journeys
Collaborate with the System Owner and Business Analyst to progressively move from low fidelity wireframes to high fidelity design concepts more thoroughly
Carry out usability studies and provide feedback including relevant analysis and to help facilitate championing of the customer
Provide support and guidance to the development teams on UX principles and best practices in line with web and industry innovation and standards to ensure the team has a consistent approach in their work
Actively research and stay abreast of UX topics and relevant technology trends.
Effectively communicate and discuss designs with stakeholders.
Participate in user research: customer visits, interviews, focus groups, and feedback sessions.
Work closely with team to define use cases, gather requirements, plan user stories, implement designs, iterate, and track changes
Help develop and maintain a design system (style guides, design patterns, etc.)

Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge gained through broad and/or deep experiences
3+ Years commercial digital experience including UX design, research, planning and strategy
Strong knowledge coding HTML and CSS
Experience coding JavaScript/jQuery
A portfolio illustrating your UX work, including wireframes, UI design, flows, and related deliverables
Proven UX experience ideally on large scale mobile friendly websites and web based applications
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to successfully develop and deliver products for the market using Agile methodologies
Strong analytical, planning, organizational and reporting skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and timely manner
IT literate with the ability to quickly learn and optimize new system environments (both internal, 3rd party and the interfaces between)

Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of front-end technologies
Demonstrable knowledge of human factors and usability best practices
A passion for solving problems and making complex systems of interaction fluid and easy to use
Strong curiosity and drive to understand how things work, envision how they might work better, and translate that vision into a compelling user experience
Ability to work effectively as part of both small teams and larger formal groups

Good influencing and facilitation skills
Ability to work independently
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or relevant experience
An enthusiastic and positive attitude
An entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinker
The ability to be creative and “think outside of the box”
Good written and spoken English.
