Ruby on Rails Developer

Experience

I have been a ruby on rails developer for the last three years, during this time, I have had the chance to work on a number of projects with a number of them being in production. In my first major project, I was part of a team of two develoepers where we developed a money remittance system that helped its users to send send money across different African countries based on the company's partners. Some of the tools and technologies I worked with while here included: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Postgres, minitest and React. I also got the chance to work on an inventory management system named Quadvendor, I was incharge of development of new features as well as the maintenance of system features. Some of the notable features I worked on while on this project included the development of an automated tax system which gave the business a summary of the monthly tax oblugations based on product sales made. I also worked on a reporting module which assisted in the business decision making process. The reports summarised sales data, purchases data and even helped the business know the stock levels of their products based on the sale trends. I also got to be part of a team which designed and implemented an ecommerce system named Smartply which was tied to the inventory management system. One of the notable features I worked on included an algorithm that calculated the delivery costs of an order based on the volume of products and location of our customers. Some of the technologies I interacted with while here include, Ruby, Rails, Hotwire, Postgres, Sidekiq, Redis, CI/CD, minitests and Tailwind Css.
Currently, I am on a project for a marketing company where I am maintaining and adding features to the backend of the system based on our clients needs. One of the features I am proud of was developing an interactive dashboard that helped our clients track their sale activities across the different demographies in the country. Also, I am part of a team of three developers working on a new version of the marketing application. Some of the technologies I have interacted with while here include Rails, Hotwire, Postgres, Goodjob for background job processing, Rspec and Tailwind CSS.
