Software Architect for Telecom project (offline)

Our customer makes cloud communications radically better for service providers. Their Cloud Voice Platform is a web-scale, turnkey, virtualized software solution that enables cable, mobile, telco and other broadband providers to rapidly customize, launch, and profit from VoIP and UC services. With their SaaS solution, voice becomes a robust broadband application and service providers realize massive simplification, new service possibilities and a lower total cost of ownership. This new way to deliver voice untangles service providers from the restraints of old-school voice networks and accelerates innovation and growth.

The team would be focused on building VOIP features on top of custom free switch AWS application. Features would include: call routing, call following, advanced inbox capabilities.

Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership and Mentoring for Senior Developers and Senior QA.
- Provides learning opportunities to Alianza Developers on a quarterly basis.
- Identifies epic level software platform maintenance and technical debt and defines the description, acceptance criteria, estimated effort (T-Shirt Size), and the stories needed to complete the epic.
- Work with PMO to ensure and own scheduling software platform maintenance and technical debt in team sprints.
- Work with PMO to ensure and own Architecturally Significant
Requirements.
- Work with PMO to produce high quality non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate communication and design between teams for domain integration points.
- Works with teams on an as needed basis to help start new technology initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging designs, methodologies/practices, and technologies.
- Find creative, novel, and effective solutions to system/architectural challenges.
- Owns and maintains Alianza shared software libraries.
- Tests software in local and developer environments against story description and acceptance criteria.
- Work with SDET and DevOps to help build out continuous integration and continuous delivery build pipelines.

Requirements:
- A technical degree from a reputable University.
- Master’s degree in a related field of study is a strong plus.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Experience in Telecom / VOIP and freeswitch/SIP as a plus
- Mastery of Java Standard Edition.
- Mastery in IaaS, PaaS and Amazon Web Services in particular
SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MySQL, MSSQL, AWS RDS).
- Mastery of building and migrating to Microservices and frameworks like Dropwizard.io, Spring Boot.
- Mastery of architectural patterns for high availability, high scalability, maintainability, testability, extensibility.
- Mastery of Continuous Integration/Delivery practices.
- Mastery of monitoring and metrics practices.
