UX Designer (offline)
We need a thoughtful and multi-faceted user experience designer well versed in:
User Research
Interaction Design
Design Thinking
Agile Methodology
Coaching and mentoring other designers
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You’ll work with a team of product managers, engineers, and other UX members to deliver a first-of-a-kind product in the consumer software market (product description will be provided under NDA);
- You will be responsible for leading and defining the end-to-end user experience and help bring to market a new line of product. This is an opportunity to work on a 1.0 from the ground up, which spans across multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, IOS, Android) and Web;
- You will collaborate with Product Managers and lead user research to understand their goals (Job-to-be-done), synthesize and explain the research results. Using this and other supplemental data, you will produce design artifacts (e.g. storyboards, usage scenarios, interaction model, screen flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes);
- You will also have the opportunity to create rapid prototypes and design experiments to test design concepts - always learning, always improving with data and feedback from your customers. Working with Product and Engineering, you will help define user metrics, user analytics and product telemetry to measure success;
- Collaborating with Product and Marketing teams, you will help ensure design in incorporated with messaging, positioning and drive brand consistency. Build user personas, develop content and conduct competitor analysis.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- You are a creative person who has technical and problem solving skills. You are grounded by Design Thinking principles and your designs are based on user research and workflow analysis. You are good at conducting user research and draw critical insights from the research. You are a strong storyteller with deep insight into the customer psyche;
- You are a multi-faceted user experience designer. You look at user research, interaction design, prototyping, visual design, content development and brand development. You may have strengths in some of these areas, and want to learn more in others, but you know how to talk about each and hire/bring in consultants to bridge the gap to combine them all into an experience that delights;
- You are a great storyteller, and it is reflected in the intuitive, simple and meaningful experience delivered. Through storytelling, you also inspire your colleagues to work with you to achieve common design goals;
- You are able to think systematically, as it creating a coherent experience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand to accommodate a user’s varied conceptual mode. And you are not afraid to break the rules and do something unique to create and help the user to realize an ah-ha moment;
- You are a problem solver, and you are inspired by helping users solve their problems. You love finding out you’re wrong. You consume large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data to constantly refine your assumptions;
- You love to help others succeed and are able to coach and mentor other designers to work at the highest level. You also love to learn and are constantly looking to improve your skills;
- You are fluent with agile development processes, possess great time management skills and consistently drive to get things done.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years experience as a UX Designer;
- 3 + years experience working in an agile development process (e.g. Agile Scrum);
- User Research experience;
- Interaction Design experience;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrate ability to collaborate cross-functionally;
- Demonstrate ability to influence others (at all levels);
- Demonstrate use of Design Thinking;
- Skilled at latest design technology and tools;
- Love working in small, agile teams. Have a sense of humor and adventure.
BONUS POINTS:
- BS integration Design, Industrial Design, Architecture of similar;
- Strong visual design skills;
- Experience as a web developer;
- Content writing skills;
- Experience working with UX/CX agencies.
