Front-end Engineer (SaaS platform for private jet owners), remote (offline)

The company

Portside (portside.co) is a Silicon Valley based early-stage technology company providing a subscription platform for business aviation. We connect aircraft management companies, individual aircraft owners, corporate flight departments, and others in a global community of 40,000+ private aircraft. We are funded by top-notch VC investors with a product &
development team based in Ukraine.

Our platform was developed entirely from scratch, beginning more than 2 years ago, and using the latest open source technology (our core stack is AWS/Python/React). It is still the early days, and we have a lot of work ahead of us, including an ambitious plan to launch several new product lines over the next year, while supporting the growing deployment of our core platform. Our founders have previously built a Y Combinator company that reached $1 billion in annual sales and was acquired in 2016. Portside is funded by a number of top-notch VC investors.

The role
We are looking for Senior front-end engineer to join our small, experienced, high-energy & friendly development team. You will be responsible for building and shipping large parts of our platform, including development of new customer-centric tools and product lines. You will be working closely with founders, designers, product managers and other engineers.

What we are looking for
o Significant front-end development experience, including experience building complex applications with modern JavaScript (ES6, React/Redux, Babel, FlowType/TypeScript, Webpack). We are a React/Redux shop, so this is a must.
o Experience with popular testing frameworks (we use Enzyme and Jest)
o Experience building and consuming APIs in an SOA / microservices architecture

Where are you based? The founders are based in Silicon Valley / San Francisco. One of the founders is originally from Kiev.

What is your recruiting process?
Finding the right fit is extremely important given the small team size and the oversized importance of this role. Expect at least 3 rounds of interviews, including interviews with the founders and several technical/engineering interviews.
