Web Accessibility Expert

We are looking for an experienced Web Accessibility Expert to join our team for long-term cooperation.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct accessibility audits for Drupal-based websites and applications to ensure compliance with standards like WCAG 2.1, ARIA, and ADA.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to implement accessibility best practices in front-end and back-end development.
• Optimize Drupal themes and modules for accessibility, including keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and color contrast.
• Provide recommendations and technical solutions to address accessibility barriers in Drupal applications.
• Test and validate accessibility using tools such as Axe, Lighthouse, or Wave, and perform manual testing with assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
• Train team members on accessibility guidelines, testing methods, and inclusive design principles.
• Stay updated on emerging accessibility standards and best practices to keep Drupal applications fully compliant.

• Document accessibility strategies, implementations, and testing results for internal and external stakeholders.

   

Skills and Qualifications:

• Accessibility Standards: Deep understanding of WCAG, ARIA, and other accessibility standards, and their application to web development.
• Drupal Knowledge: Familiarity with Drupal theming and module development, with a focus on accessibility improvements.
• Front-End Expertise: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with the ability to implement ARIA attributes and accessible interactions.
• Testing Tools: Experience with automated and manual accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse, Wave, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
• PHP Proficiency: Knowledge of PHP to implement accessibility changes in Drupal modules or templates.
• Design Collaboration: Ability to work with designers to create inclusive and accessible interfaces.
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify and resolve accessibility barriers, both technical and design-related.

• Version Control: Proficiency with Git for managing accessibility-related changes.
