We’re seeking a Backend Tech Lead to drive the evolution of our systems and architecture. You’ll take full leadership of the backend, optimizing our NestJS-based systems, integrating external services, and improving our service-based architecture. Your expertise will ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platforms, while your leadership will shape the future of the backend team.

 Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the backend, leading the technical direction and architecture for the backend systems.
• Design, architect and implement new features and improve existing ones.
• Regular monitoring of the effectiveness of development processes, their optimization, and improvement.
• Oversee and improve our codebase, ensuring quality, scalability, security, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployments, infrastructure scalability, and performance optimization across the backend systems.
• Collaborate with the project manager to ensure backend tasks are well-defined and prioritized in sprints.
• Collaborate with other teams (frontend, mobile, QA) to ensure alignment on technical dependencies and system integration.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in software development, including leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and NestJS frameworks.
• Excellent system design skills, with a proven ability to lead backend architecture and decision-making.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable) and designing service-based architectures.
• Expertise in working with relational databases (e. g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. Redis).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on cross-functional team coordination (PMs, QAs, and frontend/mobile developers).

• Experience working in a B2C startup that has scaled to millions of users, with direct involvement in architecting scalable systems and handling rapid user growth.
