Front-end Developer (offline)

About the role

The team that is looking to be extended with an additional developer is currently working on the first iteration of our Vault project. The Vault is our cross chain wallet application. In short, users of this application will be able to browse all the various DApps in the Chromia ecosystem and also view and manage their inventory and balances. The Vault can be seen as the core user interface of the Chromia ecosystem.

The team currently consists of 3 frontend developers, 1 PO, 1 QA and 1 designer. The team collaborates with other adjacent teams, especially the protocols team which is responsible for providing the “backend” of the application. Simultaneously the team is also managing and developing the Chromia open source component library.

What you can expect from this role is to get the chance to work on current and future applications of core importance with a highly skilled team who loves to share knowledge and best practices and who are really passionate about frontend development and building things the right way.

What we are looking for

We are looking for you who are passionate about frontend development and who is eager to learn more. However, to qualify for this role we’d like to see that you possess the following:

React / Nextjs knowledge
- Knowing when to employ the different react hooks
- Rendering cycle
- Being able to add simple components
- Being able to draft simple page layouts
- Being able to manage native react state

Typescript knowledge
- Type annotations
- Type unions and intersections
- Interfaces
- Some experience with utility types

Knowledge of git practices
- Staging changes, committing, pushing, fetching, pulling, merging
- Be familiar with a PR based workflow

Familiarity with a sprint based workflow
- We work with 2 week sprints
- We use Jira in a task / ticket based workflow

Being a teamplayer
- Be active and ask questions when things are unclear
- Be an attentive learner
- Take ownership and responsibility of your tasks
