Middle Java Engineer (offline)

Project Description
Nordstrom.com is one of the largest retail e-commerce companies in North America.

Marketing Technology Triggers team is tasked with using data to improve the customer experience and our ability to reach people in the way they prefer with relevant information to make their shopping experience more seamless. Middle Java Engineer will be a part of a key team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, systems, and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide quality customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of distributed data processing pipelines (using Spark, Flink, Kafka, Hive, Airflow, Hbase, Presto, etc.)
- Collaborate with US Customers and Team, build scalable and durable solutions
- Contribute to automation of manual processes (where possible) and write integration tests
- Collaborate in improving upon existing processes and solutions together with the team
- Contribute to Production support (when needed)
- Maintain E2E engineering standards (develop, test, deploy, support)
- Working with Scrum, contribute to the estimation of User Stories and tasks, refinements, and other scrum-activities

Skills Required
- At least 2 years of experience in Java
- At least 2 years of experience with SQL, MPP Databases, data modeling, data mining, and automated engineering solutions
- Intermediate knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD
- Experience with distributed systems (Spark, AWS EMR, etc)
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS or Azure)

Nice to have:
- At least basic foundation in data modeling, objected-oriented analysis and design, design patterns and algorithms
- Experience in developing aka real-time data processing solutions using Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming
- Experience with Scala and Python languages
