Senior Back-end developer (Node.js) for an AI project (offline)

Project:

We are currently searching for a Senior Back-end developer (Node.js) to join the distributed Propell development team located in Norway and Ukraine. The project is focused on development of the platform that allows companies to understand and improve their carbon footprint. Solution calculates company’s emissions by analyzing information from public and private resources, do analysis and suggestions how company can reduce emissions and move towards net-zero. Solution is built around AI model for emissions analysis and recommendation. The product is new and has not yet been released to the market yet; soft launch is planned for 2022.

Development team consists of front-end lead, front-end developer, data scientist, cloud engineer and test engineer. The everyday activities, in addition to regular development, include contributing to solution’s architecture, communication and collaboration with Product Owner and other team members.



We provide you with the following exciting challenges:

End-to-end product development from scratch: new features, architecture design and improvements etc.

Develop solution back-end in Node.js, including APIs to fetch data from Big Query (GCP) and integrations with 3rd-party systems

Participating in creation of a technical vision of the solution

Identifying areas for process improvement, proposing and implementing solutions, automation of processes

Cooperate with Product Owner and remote\distributed dev team



We expect from you:

Degree (bachelor or master) in computer science or a comparable course of study

4+ years of engineering experience (Node.js)

Experience with API design and development

Experience of working with cloud platforms (ideally using GCP)

Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments

Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to stakeholders on multiple levels

English: upper-intermediate / advanced



Would be a plus:

Experience working in cross-functional and cross-border teams

Knowledge of secure development best practices and data privacy standards
