Senior Java Developer (Logistic services) (offline)

The customer develops technologies and services for companies in need of technology for subscription services or logistics. Simply put, they take care of the entire value chain from order to delivery into the hands of the consumer. They provide the industry standard for the distribution of media products.

Team will be distributed and consists of highly dedicated and educated experts and specialists within system and application development, IT architecture, product innovation, business development, and project management. The developer teams are dedicated to one or a few products and services. Scrum is used to optimize product development, and has focus on DevOps, data science, and learning new technologies.

A backend developer will be responsible for building the microservice API’s and integrations with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL in AWS, Swagger/OpenAPI, and a bunch of other modern technologies. The services are cloud-native and are deployed in Docker containers on Kubernetes in AWS. The customer cooperates with the open-source community where the developer has the opportunity to talk to other passionate developers. The developer will build solid Java applications

This position is ideal for those who are looking for the opportunity to work in an international self-motivated team and work with modern technologies. Business trips to Norway might take place.

Tasks and responsibilities
Communicate with customer, gather technical requirements
Develop microservices and integrations with other APIs and services
Make decisions with regards to the architecture and which library to be used
Participate early in the planning of new solutions
Ensure the lifecycle of the system – idea, architecture, implementation, deployment and running in production environment

Professional requirements
Education from IT – Bachelor or higher
Experience with Java
Experience with Maven or Gradle
Experience with Spring Boot or similar web framework is ideal
Experience with SQL, where PostgreSQL is a plus
Experience writing tests, e.g. unit tests
Knowledge of AWS or Kubernetes is a plus
Passionate about developing robust and error-tolerant APIs and web apps
Experience with REST-based applications or similar
Experience with services that utilize queue technologies and/or streaming technologies, f.e. Kafka and Kinesi is preferable
Advanced English, written and oral
