Engineering Team Lead (offline)

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable, and performant services and systems, which help investors research stocks and understand market trends
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to engineers on your team
- Participate in engineering planning and grooming sessions, influencing key steps of the development process like feasibility, planning, and execution
- Learn about financial data and find ways to help users solve investment challenges
- Solve technical challenges related to performance, fault-tolerance, security, and scalability
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers to help them grow


Who You Are
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- 1+ years of team lead experience managing the workflow of an engineering team
- Experience with programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, Java or Go (we use mostly Typescript)
- Experience in the successful delivery of high-quality production services and systems; distributed, highly available, and highly scalable RESTful APIs
​​- Skills for upholding and improving software engineering practices such as high-quality code, thorough testing, clear runbook documentation, and adequate production observability
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (we use PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
- Understanding of software development life cycle, including CI/CD and testing best practices
- Curious, collaborative, humble, and a problem solver
