Senior/Middle Java Software Engineer (offline)

Project Descriprion:
OpenDaylight is a collaborative, open-source project, aimed to speed up the adoption of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and create a solid foundation for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
Our aim is to grow a strong OpenDaylight and Open Networking ecosystem and fellow open source projects to produce the most relevant and reliable technology solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Work on some of the most important open-source projects globally — www.opendaylight.org
• Analysis and architectural design for new features in this product
• Implementation and unit testing using Java8 and Java11
• Enjoying in writing clean, optimized code (mostly of it is opensourced)
• Reviewing of code developed by junior colleagues
• Estimating small to medium tasks and oversee the completion
• Development of technical documentation
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software that will define how the internet will work in the future

Minimum qualifications:
• Development commercial experience in Java (3+ years min)
• Hands-on experience/knowledge of Core Java (Asynchronous Programming, Concurrency, Multi-Threading)
• Maven, Git
• The ability to handle a full lifecycle development from analysis, design, implementation and testing
• Model-driven architecture/ domain-specific languages implementation is an advantage
• A passion to deliver, learn, contribute and collaborate
• Willingness and ability to study, as well as to teach and share knowledge
• English – Upper intermediate (B2) or higher
• Background/Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical discipline

Nice to have:
• Interest in or exposure to networking technologies/concepts such as Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) or Opendaylight (ODL) etc.
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux and Bash (or some basic experience with DevOps tools)
• Knowledge or experience with these technologies is an advantage: networking, networking protocols, client/server architecture, XML manipulation and parsing, UML, JSON.
