Senior Java Software Engineer (offline)

Our customer is investing in infrastructure, data management platforms, applications for their business lines needs as well as building additional capabilities. Our customer is using technology to automate a number of tasks to increase productivity and improve efficiency. Another technological pursuit is artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, which the company is investigating for use in both internal and client-facing processes for tasks such as fraud detection.
The main HQ is located in New York
Our team is growing, and we are looking for an Java Software Engineer! As a part of the team, you will get a chance to work with an amazing multinational team.
The objective is to create Core Components in Java Frameworks, build ETL batch Processors, Build MQ Adapters, UI Screens (Angular), Distribution Components (Kafka), High Performant Data Processors, Rules based Processors (Drools), etc.

YOU ARE
A professional willing to write clean, correct, and efficient code having the below-mentioned skills:
• Experience developing in Java 8+
• Hands-on skills with DB’s like Oracle, ElasticSearch.
• Solid understanding in data structures, algorithms, and OO Design
• Fluency in Spring, RestAPI, Microservices
• Experience with Cloud Technologies (GCP, AWS)
• Proficient understanding of tools such as GitLab, Confluence, JIRA
• Willingness and ability to take on new technologies, as you are a fast learner
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions
• Good team player, highly motivated person
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Upper Intermediate English level for everyday communication with a client

TOGETHER WE WILL

Build Enterprise Data Platform (Data Lake) to serve as a single stop shop for all data across the firm and also applications which are integrated with this data platform (as of today over 160 applications are connected to it and 22 lines of business). Vision is to use Lake to eliminate Point to Point system integration to a more consolidated data source and data distribution platform. Enterprise Data Platform is geared to enable that. Currently there are multiple Transaction & Position systems that are feeding data into the Platform and going into next year, there is a plan to onboard hundreds of data sources and leverage the pipe to perform data standardizations and enrichment before the data is made available for Client Consumption from Canonical System. Also, client has started their journey to move to cloud (currently system is hosted in their own data center with the usage of several cloud services).
We work in a true agile manner and each scrum team has all scrum ceremonies in place (planning, daily scrum, backlog refinement, sprint review & retrospective). Sprints are 3 weeks in duration and the release calendar is planned upfront.
Since it’s a pretty extensive program with several sub-projects we have here a possibility for assignment to different projects within the same client and learn new things.
