Middle Java Developer (offline)

What is required?
- 4+ years of commercial software development experience
- At least 2+ years of commercial experience with Java
- Excellent communication skills and at least upper-Intermediate English
- Hands-on experience with Python and AWS
- Hands-on requirements analysis and feature estimation experience
- Experience working directly with product management on defining the product roadmap and priorities and then turning the product vision into the technical roadmap
- Experience with such tools as Git, Subversion
- Working as part of distributed Agile team (Scrum, SAFE)

What will be a plus?
- Experience with Java Swing or JavaFX
- Team/technical leadership experience
- Architectural design experience

What will you do?
- Collaborate with client’s Architecture Engineer to clarify requirements and do joint design sessions & code reviews
- Long-term: design and implement components and features on basis of AWS and Python
- Short-term: take over development of our Summarizer application from Quanterix. Summarizer is a Swing-based Java desktop application that end-users have for loading the assays data and grouping such data for Excel export. Resulting Excel files are often used for building the charts. This application is a production one and currently used to collect the users feedback. But it is already on a decline to be replaced by the corresponding services in the cloud
- Apply coding and application design best practices using backend technologies, namely Java, Python and AWS
- Assist with the plan to consolidate the two source code repositories into one. Executing this plan will be outside of candidate control, so this is just contributing to a workable plan
- Develop an architectural picture of a current codebase to get familiar with that for further rewriting this code in the AWS environment
- Working as part of distributed Agile team (Scrum, SAFE)
