Chief Technology Officer/VP of Engineering/Head of Engineering/Director of Engineering/Principal Software Architect (offline)
As part of the founding team, you will build the company from a beta pilot to successful business at scale.
You'll be creating the roadmap, ensuring the business objectives are translated effectively into code, facilitating improvements and implementing innovative technology solutions, and managing and coaching the development teams.
Responsibilities:
β’ Build a scalable messenger platform and oversee software product development.
β’ Set a technical strategy and own the architecture design, ensuring functionality, scalability, security and high-quality customer experience.
β’ Engage with business stakeholders, including the CEO and COO, to develop a project and feature roadmap, estimate recourses and deliverables, and manage technical trade-offs to ensure the health of the technology stack.
β’ Manage technical requirements operations to ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
β’ Intermittently dive into the code to identify improvements, technical debt, and potential risks, and provide mentorship to raise quality levels.
β’ Lead internal and outsourced development teams, and set performance metrics and priorities.
β’ Manage the budget and liaise with third parties such as service providers, resellers and vendors.
β’ Ensure continuous deployment and operation of the product to improve customer experience and obtain industry-leading uptime.
Requirements:
β’ Background in software engineering with a proven track record of delivering well-engineered, large-scale and robust web or mobile applications using modern technologies, including AWS infrastructure.
β’ 5+ years of proven project management experience, including solving complex management problems and leading teams.
β’ Proven work experience in defining and delivering software architecture and performing technical research to detect and analyze cutting edge practices and technologies.
β’ Strong ability to review application code using modern frameworks and quickly learn unfamiliar technologies.
β’ Knowledge of real-time communication technologies and mobile network voice/messaging domains, such as VoIP, WebRTC and SIP.
β’ Good understanding of socket programming.
β’ Experience in supporting C-level executives with product development status β the roadmap and performance towards completion of projects.
β’ A can-do attitude with a proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts: solutions, architectures, and issues and risks with engineering and business stakeholders.
β’ Understanding of Agile and associated software engineering practices.
Desired Skills and experience:
β’ Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, computer information systems, or engineering.
β’ Experience in working with rapidly scaling engineering teams in a start-up environment.
β’ Experience in developing a product and delivering it to the market.
β’ Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and direct multiple projects and activities with varied deadlines.
β’ Familiarity with data encryption technology, and/or networking.
β’ Experience in the implementation of payment systems.
β’ Ability to work both as part of an integrated team and on an individual basis.
β’ Expertise in multiple areas: data management, data quality, real-time solutions, analytics, project delivery.
β’ Russian speaking.
