Fullstack Ruby on Rails Engineer (offline)

Project: There are two companies that the development team is working on: Calltracks – the original company and product offering as well as Barbuck – the new company and product TalkingForms launched at Tech for Marketing in September 2019.

Calltracks is an analytical call tracking tool that uses dynamic numbers insertion or static numbers to track all sales channels including; all call-related offline conversions. Our call analytics tool provides clear actionable data to improve marketing spend and boost the sales efficiency of marketers.

TalkingForms by Barbuck is a product that enables Barbuck clients to instantly contact their customer by phone via simple form request actioned by the customer.

There are three core workstreams the development team are working on:
• Maintain existing Calltracks environment and perform day to day tasks.
• Plan and execute Ruby on Rails upgrade – running on security only patches and this presents a risk to the environment.
• Continue to develop TalkingForms including any potential integrations with prospective clients.

Both Calltracks and Barbuck have been developed in Ruby on Rails – Calltracks is on version 4.2 and Barbuck is on version 6. Based on Linux servers sitting within Google Cloud Platform.

Job summary
Working on tickets for new Barbuck products. (80%)
Potential for some existing Calltracks bug fixes, alternations. (20%)
Some business/client support will be required at times.
Expected to participate in team calls, trouble-shooting queries and discussions as required.

Technical qualifications:
Must have:
Over 4 years of experience with Ruby on Rails
MySQL/Postgres etc
Javascript/Typescript
Spec writing and testing (rSpec/Capybara)

Will be an advantage:
UI experience - CSS/React
