Responsibilities

• Work closely with business in identifying solution requirements and key case-studies/scenarios to architect Data solution
• Participate in Data and Big Data initiatives on a company level
• Design Data analytics solutions by utilizing the Data technology stack with Big Data techniques
• Conduct solution architecture review/audit, calculate and present ROI
• Create and present solution architecture documents with deep technical details to customer and implementation teams
• Participate in specific “pre-sale” activities related to available experience and practice in order to prepare technical proposals on customer requests
• Lead implementation of the solutions from establishing project requirements and goals to solution "go-live"
• Maintain a strong understanding of technical solutions and architecture design trends and best practices, stay on cutting edge of Data technologies
• Constantly grow expertise by gathering and monitoring available EPAM project experience and ongoing projects with clients from different business domains to drive further EPAM business in Data field
• Create and follow personal education plan in the technology stack and solution architecture
• Share experience, knowledge and vision with EPAM, colleagues and customer teams. Participate in seminars, meet ups, mentoring, training programs. Prepare white papers and presentations

Requirements

• Strong ‘hands-on’ experience as a Data Architect with design/development background with Java, Scala, or Python
• Architecture experience and practice in Data Management, Data Storage, Data Visualization, Disaster Recovery, Integration, Operation and Security
• Experience with building traditional Cloud Data Warehouses, Data Lakes
• Knowledge of high load and IoT Data Platform architectures and infrastructures
• Wide experience in analysis, design, implementation, deployment as well as troubleshooting and rebuilding distributed Linux based platforms and Big Data solutions on premises and in Cloud
• Strong Cloud experience in at least one of the Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Solid experience in continuous delivery tools and technologies
• Broad experience with Containers and Resource Management systems: Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Yarn
• Able to deliver Data Analytics projects and architecture guidelines
• Strong in research, comparison, and selection of tools / technologies / approaches to be used

We are seeking a skilled Python Software Engineer with approximately 5-10 years of professional experience to join our innovative biomedical startup. You will help build out the backend of our SaaS platform, working alongside our backend developers and AI engineers to integrate various APIs, computer vision tools, and Large Language Models into production-ready solutions. You will collaborate on deploying AI models, designing robust endpoints using FastAPI, and creatively leveraging LLMs for structured outputs. Selected applicants will be asked to perform a short take-home test task and submit a 30-second video introduction—this is the main criterion we will use for our interview process before the final meeting.

Your Role

As a Python Software Engineer at QOVES, you will be responsible for:
 

• Building and Maintaining Backend Services
  • Developing and integrating Python-based microservices and APIs (using FastAPI or similar frameworks) to power our SaaS platform.

  • Working alongside our AI engineers to incorporate computer vision techniques (e.g., GLCM, SWFT transformers) and Large Language Models into robust, scalable solutions.
     
• LLM Utilization and Prompt Engineering
  • Designing clever prompts for LLMs to produce structured JSON outputs and other data formats needed by our applications.
     
• DevOps for AI Model Deployment
  • Setting up and managing the infrastructure required to run and deploy prebuilt AI models from our teams, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. We have our own devops team, but you should be able to run and setup your own environments for testing quickly.

  • Participating in code reviews, sharing best practices, and contributing to architectural decisions.

Required Qualifications

• 5-6 years of professional experience in Python and Software Engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with a solid grasp of software engineering best practices.
• Experience with FastAPI (or similar)
  • Demonstrable experience building APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
• Computer Vision Exposure
  • Familiarity with techniques such as GLCM, SWFT transformers, or similar methodologies.

• Client-facing Technology Consulting: Work with the VP of Delivery and VP of Business Development to participate in client-facing calls, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and project requirements. Accurately evaluate and estimate new initiatives. 
• Full Engineer Engagement: Ensure 100% of engineers are fully occupied by balancing resource loads across projects. Reassign engineers without commercial work to alternative teams. 
• Career Development: Establish clear job levels and career paths for engineers, tech leads, and architects. Implement a training program to enhance technical skills and promote growth. 
• Process Improvement: Update and maintain documentation of development processes across all units and advocate for best practices organization-wide.
• Hiring Standards: Actively participate in the hiring process to ensure the team is staffed with top-tier talent. Maintain or improve the skill level and cohesion of the development team. 
• Budget Accuracy: Keep budget deviations below 20% by participating in project scoping and making necessary resource adjustments.

Qualifications:

• E-commerce Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams on complex e-commerce projects, serving as the primary escalation point, and ensuring alignment with client goals and industry standards. 
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of eCommerce architecture (B2B, B2C) and Adobe Commerce. Experience as an architect or lead developer, with a strong understanding of product delivery from both technical and management perspectives. 
• Resource Management: Proficient in managing resources across multiple projects, optimizing for efficiency. 
• Talent Development: Skilled in recruiting, hiring, and developing technical talent.

• Вища освіта
• 6+ років досвіду роботи в IT

Responsibilities

• Become the technical focal point for the development efforts of an agile group alongside hands-on development (when applicable) and system design of one or more sub-systems.
