As an aspiring Deliberately Developmental Organization (DDO), we see personal growth and technical excellence as two sides of the same coin. We’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to help us lead one of our key projects — a non-profit platform driving global supply chain transparency, so you can contribute to software that matters — for the environment, transparency, and global change.

    Responsibilities

    • People Management: Hold regular 1:1s, support career growth, define skill gaps, and guide development plans.
    • Technical Leadership: Lead code reviews, define coding standards, support architecture discussions, and code occasionally to unblock engineers.
    • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Advanced Facilitation: Lead complex planning, decision-making, and alignment sessions.
    • Product Collaboration: Align engineering efforts with business goals, contribute to roadmaps and planning.
    • Team Operations: Define and evolve how the team works together to stay efficient, healthy, and motivated.

     

     

    Requirements

    • Prior experience as an Engineering Manager or equivalent leadership role.
    • At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
    • Strong mix of technical expertise, people leadership, and stakeholder management.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
    • Strategic mindset with hands-on capability.
    • Excellent written and spoken English skills (C1+).

     

     

    Tech Environment (project-specific)

    • Backend: Python (Django, FastAPI), PostgreSQL, Kafka, Ruby, OpenSearch
    • Frontend: React, Redux, MaterialUI
    • DevOps: AWS, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions
    • Experience with non-profits, understanding their business and challenges will be a plus
    • Experience with specific technologies utilized in the project will be a plus, along with understanding how data and API-based products function

    The ideal candidate excels at crafting innovative technical solutions to drive company objectives. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders and drives direct impact on business.

    Responsibilities:
     

    • Work closely with the CTO, Product Manager, Engineering Team, and other stakeholders
    • Take a leading role in breaking down initiatives into epics aligned with the roadmap
    • Contribute to the prioritization of tasks
    • Demonstrate high-quality coding, conduct code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and document best practices
    • Design and co-create innovative software and system architectures that address real-world business challenges, empowering the team to collectively solve complex problems
    • Constantly communicate with current and potential end-users and guide them through the technical integrations with the client’s platform
    • Balance hands-on work with the team and strategic and leadership responsibilities
    • Contribute significantly to clients’ business goals with tailored software solutions


    Requirements:
     

    • Good knowledge of Python or equivalent expertise in another high-level programming language, with a willingness and ability to quickly learn Python
    • Working knowledge of modern Front-End frameworks, ideally ReactJS
    • Excellent leadership skills, ideally with experience leading medium to large Engineering teams
    • Willingness to constantly learn on the job and take on new challenges
    • Experience in software and system architecture
    • Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (preferably AWS) and DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
    • Excellent communication skills in English (C1 or higher).
    • Experience with Data Engineering and Data Science will be a plus
    • Experience with non-profits, understanding their business and challenges will be a plus
    • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts will be a plus


    Technical skills:

     

    • Python
    • ReactJS
    • Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (preferably AWS)
    • DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
    • Experience in software and system architecture

    Location and Team Collaboration
    This is a full-time remote position, including hourly payment. You can work from your preferred location with occasional on-site collaboration at various offices, including Budva, Philadelphia, etc. Working hours are flexible but should overlap with our core locations in ET, CET, EET time zones.
