The role

We are looking for a customer-obsessed, entrepreneurial Senior Backend-focused Software Engineer. We hire rock stars and empower them. You will write and execute your own charter, and you’ll have an opportunity to shape the way Secro will grow. In exchange, we expect a strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset. We are looking for a self-starter, result-oriented and independent engineer. As a candidate, you should have experience of building modern SaaS and B2B applications. Our tech team works together with the business to deliver a world-class web application that will change forever the global trade of commodities and you’ll be at the center helping to craft Secro’s technology stack. This is going to be your white canvas, in a scrappy, startup environment where you’ll have endless opportunity to learn and grow. Our project entails advanced usage of encryption, digital signatures, blockchain, PDF processing, message queues and async background tasks.

In this role you will:

• Work in a global, culturally diverse software development team
• Gain hands-on experience in how the global trade of commodities and digital trade documents work.
• Be deeply involved in setting the technical direction of the team and supporting them to achieve technical excellence.
• Help mentor team members, define our engineering standards, and drive a system design approach to building new services.
• Take pride in helping your team in delivering great products; prioritizing usability and clarity while designing and implementing services and APIs, all at scale.

About you

You want to be part of the bigger picture and can see it. You are a startup kind of person: proactive, self-starter, able to take decisions where there is ambiguity with a strong sense of ownership.

Must have

Programming Skills:

• 3+ year of experience with JavaScript
• 3+ year of experience with TypeScript 

Back-end experience

• 3+ years of experience with NestJS, TypeORM, and various software architectures/patters
• 3+ years of experience with REST API
• 3+ years of experience of various authentication methods
• 3+ years of experience of database systems and SQL
• 1+ years of blockchain development or maintenance experience is a strong plus

Infrastructure

• 3+ years of experience in AWS SDK v3, RDS, S3, SQS, SES, Redis/ElastiCache, Cognito, and DynamoDB
• 3+ years of experience of Docker
  • Experience with Kubernetes a plus

Front end experience (nice to have):

• 1+ years of experience with NextJS and ReactJS
• 1+ years of experience with Redux/RTK
• 1+ years of experience with SCSS

Agile/Scrum:

• 3+ years working with functional and non-functional requirements and technical specifications
• Solid experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments

Quality:

• 3+ years of experience with Jest
• Analytical skills to be able to detect bugs, analyze the situation and implement remediation

Code Management

• 5+ years of version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git (we use Gitlab)
• 5+ years of Code Review experience

Soft skills

Must be a good communicator with strong sense of ownership for work and tasks. Looking for a result driven individual committed to highest code quality that respects business needs and timelines.

Location

We work remotely. Our tech team is based in Wroclaw, Poland. Our business team is based in the US. We might evaluate candidates from European countries and, for great talents, also other locations.
