Job Title: Senior Data Engineering with Python knowledge

Location: Ukraine

Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data engineer with Python knowledge to join the CTO Office at N-iX. This position offers the opportunity to work on one of the most challenging and innovative data platform projects within the Ukrainian outsourcing ecosystem. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with a highly experienced team of data architects, engineers, business analysts, and engineering managers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data engineering solutions utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AWS Glue, Lake Formation, Iceberg, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Python, and Kafka.
• Architect and implement data lake solutions, leveraging AWS Lake Formation, Glue, and Iceberg.
• Design, build, and manage data pipelines and integration workflows, primarily using Airflow and Glue.
• Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure optimal data integration and platform performance.
• Ensure high data quality, reliability, scalability, and security across all data platform components.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge exchange.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python, with proven experience in developing scalable data applications and data processing scripts.
• Strong experience with Data Lake and Data Platform Integration.
• At least 5 years of experience working with AWS technologies (Glue, Lake Formation, Iceberg).
• Extensive hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
• Solid understanding of real-time data streaming using Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with data lakehouse architecture principles and best practices.
• Experience with AWS Code pipeline and continuous integration/deployment tools
• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) is desirable but not required.
• Experience with Data Mesh concepts will be advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Advanced English is required for effective communication within an international team.
