Build the core of a SaaS that reduces the time to answer 1,000-page, PDF-based requests to minutes for construction suppliers.

kinisto is a fast-growing startup. Our software is a SaaS product used by construction material suppliers and wholesalers. We are a fully remote company based in Berlin, Germany. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer or Senior Full-stack Engineer to join our team.

Our users rely on kinisto to speed up the quotation process in their companies. Currently, the quotation process for buildings is manual and very repetitive. This is one reason why building new housing in Germany is slow and costly. It means manually scanning inboxes and tracking deadlines across the team. It also means reading complex requirements for buildings—up to 1,000 pages long—using just a PDF reader. This is an expert task, which means highly qualified workers waste valuable time. Our software structures this task and automates the repetitive parts, so experts can focus on what matters most. Our users spend long hours in kinisto, so a highly optimized UX, a fast interface, and automation using AI are critical. Join us to build kinisto.

Responsibilities

• Building and shipping new features.
• Maintaining and owning parts of the backend codebase and architecture.
• Improving our architecture, tools, processes, and workflows.

Your Profile

• You have had a central role in developing and shipping a product in a company of 5–100 people.
• You write easy-to-understand, maintainable code.
• You are currently based in Europe or the US and allowed to work there.
• You have a deep understanding of the entire stack of web applications. This includes the fundamentals of networking, databases, and distributed computing.
• You have excellent skills in Python, PostgreSQL, Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), and, ideally, Kubernetes and Vue.js.
