Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Flamingo, you’ll design, implement, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that powers our platform. You will focus on automating the integration of open-source tools into our deployment pipeline, ensuring seamless scalability and operational efficiency. Your expertise in cloud services, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation will be crucial to the stability and efficiency of our platform as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS/GCP.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
- Ensure high availability and security of microservices using Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
- Automate the integration of open-source tools into our DevOps workflows to enhance observability, security, and performance.
- Enhance system reliability through automated scaling, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment strategies and system observability.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Expertise in CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency in networking, security best practices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with serverless frameworks and AWS Lambda.
- Familiarity with GitOps, Helm, and Kubernetes management tools.
- Knowledge of security automation tools (e.g., Vault, Terraform security modules).
- Expertise in cloud networking (e.g., VPC, subnets, load balancing).

You’ll shape the community strategy, create compelling content, foster discussion around open tools and frameworks, and help surface real-world practices that reduce IT costs.
This role blends community building, editorial vision, product insight, and growth marketing, and is perfect for someone who’s passionate about tech, open-source, and making high-impact knowledge accessible.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a community strategy focused on open-source adoption, cost-saving practices, and automation in IT and security.
- Manage and grow Flamingo’s online presence across Slack, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Build and curate a high-quality content stream: blog posts, social media, and newsletters, with a strong editorial voice and value for IT professionals.
- Design and maintain a content calendar that supports both community growth and product storytelling.
- Attract and onboard new community members through creative campaigns, partnerships, and educational content.
- Launch and moderate community-driven activities like webinars, AMAs, tutorials, open discussions, and knowledge swaps.
- Surface valuable feedback, user insights, and patterns from the community to inform product direction, marketing, and positioning.
- Identify and engage with relevant open-source projects, cost-reduction tools, and ecosystem partners to amplify Flamingo’s mission.
- Foster a smart, helpful, and collaborative environment where members actively learn, contribute, and connect.
QualificationsMust-Have:
- 3+ years of experience in community management, social media, or growth marketing.
- Proven track record of building and engaging online communities.
- Strong writing and communication skills — especially for technical and B2B audiences.
- Familiarity with Slack, LinkedIn, and other social channels used by IT professionals.
- Self-starter attitude — you love taking initiative and wearing multiple hats.
- Comfortable working remotely and in a fast-moving startup team.
