The role will require mix of backend development, web scraping, LLM integration, model selection, and evaluation.
Our client helps industry-leading retailers make smarter inventory and merchandising decisions. It is a small team backed by leading strategic angels across luxury sectors, along with advisors who bring extensive retail and technical innovation to the table.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial experience;
- Advanced proficiency in Python, with experience using FastAPI and asyncio;
- Hands-on experience with LLM applications, RAG techniques, and agent-based workflows;
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, including database design, optimization, and querying;
- Experience with keyword and vector search, including multimodal search (text, images, embeddings);
- Proficiency in ETL pipeline development and large-scale web scraping (Scrapy is a plus);
- Experience with EC2, S3, ECS, and SQS, with an ability to optimize cloud infrastructure;
- Experience with Linux configuration, Bash scripting, and automation;
- Proficiency with Docker and continuous integration/deployment using GitHub Actions;
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems independently;
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments;
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
