Role Overview:
You will be our first dedicated back-end engineer. For the first phase, the back end is you — working directly with founders  and one front-end engineer.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Back-End Developer with strong proficiency in TypeScript and deep expertise in Node.js and NestJS. You will design the core services of the platform from a small existing foundation, and the decisions you make in the first six months are the ones every future engineer will inherit. We value judgement and pragmatism in equal measure: knowing which problems deserve a proper solution now, and which deserve a note in the backlog.

Key Responsibilities:
Owning the back-end end to end — architecture, implementation, deployment and the pager;
Designing, building and maintaining services and APIs in NestJS and TypeScript, with stable contracts and careful versioning;
Modelling data and evolving production schemas without downtime — migrations, backfills and safe rollout strategies;
Guaranteeing correctness and isolation in a multi-tenant context: authentication, authorisation, quotas and rate limiting;
Building asynchronous communication between services (queues, events, background jobs) with idempotency and failure recovery in mind;
Instrumenting what you build: structured logging, metrics, tracing and alerts that mean something;
Diagnosing and resolving performance issues — slow queries, N+1 patterns, contention, memory leaks — using data rather than intuition;

• Strong command of JavaScript fundamentals and extensive production experience with TypeScript;
• Solid understanding of design patterns, dependency injection and modular architecture;
• Proficiency with NestJS, or with an equivalent framework (Spring, .NET) plus a genuine interest in working in NestJS;
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar): data modelling, indexing, execution plans, transactions and isolation levels;
• ORMs such as TypeORM, Prisma or MikroORM — along with an awareness of their limits and the confidence to write SQL when needed;
• REST API design, including pagination, versioning, error handling and backward compatibility;

Кого шукаємо

Backend-інженера з сильним досвідом у Node.js та зрілим архітектурним мисленням. Надамо перевагу інженеру, який не просто пише код, а розуміє, як проєкт будувати, змінювати, підтримувати та масштабувати — і приймає архітектурні рішення, з якими команда житиме роками.

Зараз активно працюємо над новими сервісами, інтеграціями, автоматизацією, тому роботи цікавої вистачить.

Що треба вміти

Будь ласка, ознайомтесь уважно. Вказали не все підряд, а тільки дійсно потрібне.

• 7–15 років досвіду з Node.js та бекенд-розробкою
• Вмієте задавати технічний напрямок, аргументувати компроміси й доводити рішення до продакшену, а не тільки закривати таски
• Розумієте, коли потрібен моноліт, а коли мікросервіс (і коли не потрібен ні той, ні інший)
• Маєте досвід роботи в мікросервісній архітектурі
• Працювали з Docker, Kubernetes, Helm (буде плюсом, якщо маєте досвід з Istio)
• Вмієте профілювати код і запити
• Є досвід складних міграцій (не тільки rename поля)
• Розбираєтесь в асинхронних чергах, event streaming, data transformation
• Добре володієте TypeScript
• Впевнено працюєте з Nest.js
• Писали сервіси, що працюють з MongoDB + PostgreSQL
• Працювали з NATS або чимось подібним
• CI/CD — не просто слова. GitLab Pipelines, Prometheus, Grafana — бажано
• Тестування: Jest або інші, Selenium — бонусом
• Реалізовували REST, JSON-RPC API, event-driven архітектури та real-time рішення

• Вмієте ефективно користуватися AI-асистентами для написання коду — як частиною щоденного робочого процесу

   

Що буде плюсом

• Досвід інтеграції з платіжками (Stripe, інші)
• Базові знання фронтенду (React), щоб орієнтуватись у загальній структурі
• Розумієте AI на архітектурному рівні — як вбудувати зовнішні AI-сервіси та API в надійну систему
• Працювали з AI-фреймворками (LangChain, Mastra, CopilotKit тощо) — досвід хоча б з одним із них буде плюсом

Що робити

• Писати нові сервіси, оптимізувати існуючі, автоматизувати внутрішні процеси
• Проєктувати архітектуру нових напрямків і відповідати за ключові технічні рішення
• Інтегрувати сторонні платформи
• Покращувати Developer Experience у команді
• Працювати з іншими командами над спільними задачами
• Робити продукт, яким щодня користуються сотні тисяч людей

З ким працювати

Продуктова команда з 10 інженерів, кожен з яких має 7–15+ років досвіду. Всередині у нас мінімум мікроменеджменту, але високі вимоги до якості. Є своя культура коду, архітектури та рішень — і ми хочемо, щоб ти її доповнив, а не просто вписався.
