Senior C++ Developer (offline)

The company is building a brand-new network that is simple, fast and secure, to replace old cybersecurity and networking products (e.g. firewalls, VPNs, MPLS) and to natively support new architectures, such as cloud and microservices. The company is backed by leading Silicon Valley VCs and strategic investors.

Rather than continue to patch the Internet’s inherent flaws with a myriad of cybersecurity and networking solutions, 8e14 is turning the problem on its head -- it is re-architecting the network so it’s built the right way from the core.
Our goal is to build a network that takes care of all connectivity and security aspects on our behalf and allows us to focus on what’s important. In other words, our new network is self-defending, self-optimizing and self-healing.
We accomplish this by creating a new secure, decentralized overlay network. This new network is cloud-managed. Users, devices and applications can communicate over the 8e14 network with speed, security and simplicity, as if they are on a local area network (LAN).

We are looking for a Networking guru who is proficient with C and C++. Your primary focus will be developing the next gen secure overlay network.

The position requires an agile thinking and open mind set, and the ability to be an active participant in a collaborative working environment. Willingness to mentor peers and share personal knowledge is always appreciated.

Responsibilities:

● Take an active part in building the main company’s product “from scratch”
● Design and develop the core product components
● Conduct design and code reviews
● Work independently in a fast and agile environment
Requirements:
● 5+ years of proven experience as a software engineer
● Strong knowledge in C and C++
● Deep knowledge in networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, GRE, SSL, etc)
● Proven experience in Linux or other operating systems programming
● Good knowledge in data structures
● Excellent analytical skills

Desirable:

● Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
● Experience in multithreading, performance and memory optimizations
● Previous experience with Quic
● Android or iOS knowledge
