Elixir / Phoenix developer for meaningful product (offline)

Company / Mission
Most retailers don’t know what to do with returned and unsold items, they lack technologies and efficient systems. Eventually a huge amount of goods is sent to the landfill. Our solution allows to take unsold and returned goods from retailers’ warehouses, process and analyze each item and choose the right market and channel to remarket it, thus reducing waste and making quality overstock and returned items available to new consumers.

Technology
- Backend systems currently use Elixir and Phoenix, as well as Postgres, Redis and RabbitMQ (AMQP) for integrations with in-warehouse systems and 3rd party warehouse vendors, and are currently hosted on Heroku.

- On-site/in-warehouse system responsible for supporting warehouse operations, capable of working even without internet. Here Elixir’s Nerves project is used to package the server and stationary workstations into burnable firmware running on Raspberry Pi 4s. In-warehouse server consists of a Regular Phoenix app packaged into Nerves firmware.

- Just FYI: Frontend apps are being built with Ember.js (Octane). Auth0 is used for authentication, authorization, user management. UI clients are hosted on Amazon S3.

About Innoteka

We're all-remote (since 2016!) team of engineers working with product companies as part of their team (even if it's called "remote outstaffing").

Our clients work with us for 2-4 years and call us "secret weapon" and "very reliable and trustworthy strategic partner".

On the engineers side - we hire matured developers who choose trust, freedom and responsibility. Historically, our developers work with us for 2-3 years as well as clients.

It is our choice to remain a proud small firm vs growth-obsessed compromised factory.

We don’t do a lot of “marketing” (don't you think there's too much marketing in this World?). Instead, we continuously do a lot of charity to families in need, educational and healthcare organizations.
