Senior SQL DB Administrator with Development Skills (offline)

Our client is a global media company specializing in travel. Their unique travel deals are valued by more than 25 million of members all over the world.
We are looking for a Senior SQL DB Administrator with the key focus on troubleshooting and performance tuning to join our team and work on the availability and consistent performance of a client’s corporate applications. The team provides 24x7 support for critical production systems. The person that we are looking for should be ready to work in the PST time zone (approximately 7 AM – 2 PM).
The person will support the development team and help in database development and maintenance of the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health, and performance), executing data loads, developing and managing SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and SSAS cubes.

Responsibilities
Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
Manage an always on, disaster recovery environment, replication, and Azure connectivity
Provide tools for monitoring, managing, alerting, and improving customer database performance
Identify and fix SQL Server performance issues, perform query optimization, and implement stored procedure performance improvements
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing end-to-end problem resolution
Automate database tasks, backups, and restore operations of production databases to other environments for testing and development purposes
Support developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
Support for production systems must be prepared to work regular on-call duty
Provide consultations, training, and mentoring for the development team

Required Skills and Experience
Willingness to work on schedule (5:00 PM — 12:00 AM)
5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience
Knowledge of database development best practices and hands-on experience with implementing databases, SSIS packages, and SSRS reports
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience working with backups, restores and recovery models
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) – Always On and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
Experience working with Windows server (OS configuration and performance monitoring, Active Directory, installation of SQL Server components)
Experience working with managing SSIS runtime
Understanding of Power BI and analytics will be a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experienced team worker
Ability to work in an independently in a rapidly changing environment
Spoken English
