Senior System Engineer (Latvia) (offline)

Duties and responsibilities

Maintain business critical application environments, ensure that our systems are running healthy, stable and following best practices
Participate in planning and implementation system security and risk management
Build and maintain tools that help us deliver software fast and safe
Automate infrastructure and configuration management
Participate in development of projects by providing IT infrastructure and operations expertise
Assist and support our development team
Document business critical IT infrastructure management procedures
Coordinate subcontractors
Continuously improve environment


Required Experience and Skills

Experience on similar position managing production environments at least 3 years
Deep knowledge in Linux system administration (pref. CentOS, RedHat environments), RDMS administration (pref. MySql/MariaDB/Postgres), Nginx, PHP
Experience in configuration management with Ansible
Good understanding of networks and network protocols, e.g. TCP/IP stack and application layer protocols like DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP
Knowledge of best practices of IT Operations and practical experience of building fault tolerant, highly available and scalable systems
Google Cloud Platform and/or OpenStack
Zabbix, ELK, Wazuh, Git
Language requirements: Russian - at least good (speaking), English - at least good (communication either in person or over the phone/voice chats)
