Lead Data Engineer (offline)

Requirements:

-5-7 years of experience in developing software applications including analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications
-BS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or area of study related to data sciences and data mining or relevant experience
-Proficient in application/software architecture
-Responsible for Operations of the complete Big Data Ecosystem
-Experience with operational aspects of platforms such as monitoring and alerts management, availability, capacity management, and service management
-Experience with Spark or Hadoop, NoSQL databases, cloud-based technologies
Python / Scala programming experience
3+ years of leadership experience would be a plus
English: upper-intermediate+

Responsibilities:

-Assist in the definition of architecture (components and technologies used to implement them) to ensure that solutions are built within a consistent framework
-Lead design and implementation of scalable, high-performance components of software solutions
-Author, review, and approve design documents
Implement and improve core software infrastructure
-Mentor other team members
-Assist members of other teams as a technical and business-savvy resource
-Perform systems and applications performance characterization and trade-off studies through analysis and simulation
-Provide innovative operational solutions and best practices
-Troubleshoot production issues, engage appropriate parties, and drive through to resolution
-Handle escalations and communicate with users and partners

A Lead Data Engineer is responsible for leading the efforts of developing high performance, distributed computing tasks and components using Big Data software stacks such as Spark / Hadoop, NoSQL databases, and other distributed, cloud-based technologies. The Lead Data Engineer is also responsible for analyzing, designing, programming, debugging and modifying software enhancements and/or new components used in distributed large scale analytics solutions.
