Senior Data Engineer (offline)

Job Description
Required:
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

• +5 years’ experience in server-side development.

• Proven experience of at least 3 years with designing and building production systems.

• Strong skills with several of the following: Python, PySpark, Java.
• Deep knowledge of different data stores such as MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, etc.
• Experience with AWS or other public clouds.

• Proven experience with asynchronous execution concepts.
• Strong OOP/OOD + design patterns.
• Attention to detail, love working with data
• Professional proficiency in English.


Nice to have:
• Good understanding of how to explore and extract insights from data:
• SQL capabilities (RDS/Athena/Redshift), using Spark to process billions of data points, etc.
• Experience with ML models.
• Good knowledge of data science tools (based on common programming languages, e.g., Python, R, Scala)

Job Responsibilities
• Developing and being responsible for distributed, high-throughput, large-scale production data science pipeline.
• Work closely with our Data Science Team and analysts to implement statistical and machine learning algorithms
• Working with production clusters of various data stores and data processing engines, including Spark, ElasticSearch, Couchbase, Redis, MySQL, Redshift and Athena.
• Debugging complex problems across the whole stack.
• Working in a dynamic, agile environment.

The connected bar/outlet we have created allows the collection of critical data from each bar with the goal of providing bar owners real-time insights and understanding of the market to optimize their portfolio, improve their operations and increase their revenue.
