Product Manager
We build AI-powered SaaS tools that understand, discover, and recommend scientific papers and experts. For the past 10 years, we've helped businesses and academic institutions stay at the cutting edge of research. We have more than 70 clients, including Europe's largest scientific funding agencies, top-10 scientific publishers and universities.
Today the founders do most of the product work themselves. We're looking for a product manager to talk to clients, decide with R&D what to build and how, and check that it works after release. You will work directly with the founders, sales, business development, marketing and R&D.
What you'll do:
- Talk to clients: interviews about their needs, screenshare sessions about how they work today, feedback calls with key clients
- Run pilots of new products: make the pilot succeed and learn from it, while business development turns it into a contract
- Own the product roadmap: learn vision from founders, collect priorities from sales and clients, weigh them against R&D capacity, keep the team up to date
- Work with R&D: problem statement and scope, acceptance, planning, and measuring the outcome after release
- Own product analytics (Mixpanel, Google Analytics): decide what to measure and act on the data
- Own our integrations with manuscript systems such as ScholarOne and eJournalPress: quality, features, API changes, adoption by their clients
- Help marketing with product updates, newsletters, onboarding emails and competitive analysis
You'll be great for this role if you:
- Have worked as a product manager in B2B SaaS
- Like talking to clients and can tell what they need from what they ask for
- Can turn a vague request into a clear problem statement and scope
- Want to learn a complex domain: research funding and scientific publishing
- Can test an integration/API yourself and find out the cause of a problem: bug, a missing feature, miscommunication, etc
Ideal background:
- Very good English, written and spoken
- Experience with product analytics tools
- Experience with research, publishing or grant management is a plus, not a requirement
Format: remote, European working hours.
