Shopify Developer

🔥 About the position:

We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to join Mirai Clinical + Koko Face Yoga as an in-house developer and take ownership of the technical side of both Shopify stores.

Around 90% of your time will be focused on miraiclinical.com (Shopify Plus), with the rest supporting kokofaceyoga.com as needed.

The Shopify work is currently split between several contractors, so we are bringing it in-house. This is not a ticket-taking role — you will recommend what to build, implement it, QA it, measure the result, and explain your decisions.

We are also looking for someone who actively uses AI coding tools and can help the wider team use AI effectively.
 

💻 Hard Skills:

• 3+ years of hands-on Shopify theme development: Liquid, Online Store 2.0, JSON templates, CSS/Tailwind, JavaScript.
• Strong Shopify Plus experience, including Checkout Extensibility.
• Confident with Git/GitHub and Shopify CLI, staging, version control, and backups.
• Experience with metafields, metaobjects, Shopify Flow, app integrations, and product/variant logic.
• Experience running and QAing A/B tests, ideally with Intelligems.
• Strong understanding of analytics and tracking: GA4, ad pixels, Shopify Flow, and related tools.
• Strong debugging skills, especially around mobile conversion, browser/device issues, tracking, and page speed.
• Daily practical use of AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar, with the ability to validate AI-generated code.
• Confident English and ability to explain technical work clearly to non-developers.

🎯 Main responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Shopify themes across Mirai Clinical and Koko Face Yoga.
• Develop and maintain Liquid, JavaScript, CSS/Tailwind, JSON templates, and Checkout Extensibility customizations.
• Run and analyze A/B tests in Intelligems and turn findings from KnoCommerce and Heatmap.com into test ideas.
• Support Loop subscriptions, including SKU swaps, new subscription models, and launches.
• Diagnose conversion and technical issues, particularly on mobile.
• Audit the Shopify app stack to reduce costs and protect page speed.
• Manage metafields, metaobjects, Shopify Flow, and product/variant logic.
• Maintain accurate tracking across the theme, Shopify, GA4, and ad pixels.
• Maintain integrations with Klaviyo, Postscript, Nosto, Loop, and other Shopify apps.
• Recommend and implement improvements from idea through QA and measurement.
• Train the team on effective use of AI development tools.
• Support other Shopify and web projects as needed.
   

🧩 It will be a plus:

• Experience with Zipify OCU, Loop, Replo, Intelligems, Nosto, or similar Shopify apps.
• DTC / consumer products experience.
• Subscription e-commerce experience.
• Experience with Littledata, Segment, BigQuery, TripleWhale, Meta Ads, or Google Ads.

Working Conditions:

🏡 Fully remote — dedicated in-house role with ownership over Shopify development.

⏰ Core hours: the team starts at 7:00 a.m. New York Eastern Time and works from a shared Zoom virtual office during agreed hours.

💻 Collaborative setup: comfortable staying connected, using breakout rooms, asking questions verbally, and sharing your screen when useful.

🎯 Focus: ~90% Mirai Clinical + ~10% Koko Face Yoga.

Mirai Clinical is a natural personal care brand offering products based on Japanese persimmon extract, including deodorizing soap, body wash, body wipes, aluminum-free deodorant, hair care, and home-care products.
