Are you a passionate software engineer, looking for a new and interesting project within Embedded Linux systems?

Since early 2000 we have supported our clients on a vast number of projects, all over the world. Our consultant pool consist of Swedish and non Swedish consultants within the fields of embedded systems telecommunication, online solutions and application development. Now we are looking for new candidates to come work with us as consultants, on-site with our customers in Sweden.

We are looking for a Linux Expert to work with Embedded Linux systems at our customer's organization, investigating optimization opportunities for an embedded in-vehicle Linux based connectivity system. The assignment will start with a pre-study, starting as soon as possible. The assignment consists of identifying optimization opportunities to improve the overall run-time behavior (boot, load, etc.) of the system. This can include anything from tuning the Linux kernel, doing build time optimizations, restructuring application software etc.
• The identified opportunities including the effort and risk to implement them shall be documented.
• The improvement opportunities shall also be prioritized by a cost/benefit prediction and next steps shall be recommended.

Required skills:
• Structured and used to produce technical reports.
• Extensive experience from optimizing embedded Linux System.
• Used to tuning the Linux kernel for embedded systems.
• Used to optimizing applications built with gcc (C++).
• Experienced with identifying bottlenecks both on system and on application level.

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden (https://goo.gl/maps/ZbyQBfM2msEgGxFT7). The assignment starts with a pre-study (1-2 months) that partly may be done remotely. If the pre-study is successful then it will turn into a longterm on-site assignment in Gothenburg.

Start: within 2-6 weeks, or when your current contract allows.

Duration: 1-2 months (pre-study), high probability for long term extension.

Extent: Full-time, 40h/week. Paid overtime can be requested by the customer.

Compensation: 50 000 — 55 000 SEK gross (minus ca. 30% income tax) depending on qualifications. In cases of an exceptional competence level we can offer a higher salary and/or additional benefits. Work permit and air fare (including registered partner and children), occupational pension plan, five weeks paid vacation per year, income insurance, work liability insurance, governmental pension plan, sports contribution, Swedish language course support.
