Founding Engineer / Technical Lead — EdTech Platform
We are building a new online education platform that connects parents with qualified tutors in a simple, reliable, and accessible way.
We are looking for an experienced Founding Engineer / Technical Lead to help design, build, and launch the product from the ground up. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who wants meaningful ownership over architecture, technical strategy, and the future engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Own core system architecture and technical direction
- Build and launch the initial production platform
- Develop parent, tutor, scheduling, matching, and administrative features
- Design scalable APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD
- Establish standards for reliability, security, monitoring, and performance
- Help evaluate and integrate AI-driven capabilities
- Contribute to future engineering hiring and technical leadership
Ideal Background
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack and backend architecture experience
- Cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE experience
- Experience building scalable production systems
- Strong technical ownership and leadership skills
- Experience with AI-assisted development is a plus
Compensation
Contract: $30–$50 USD/hour
Full-time: $60,000–$100,000 USD/year + equity
Compensation will depend on experience, availability, and level of technical ownership.
