About our project and your role

Luminant Analytics is a Swiss / American Startup offering analytics services for insurers with a focus on the automotive insurance industry. We are looking for a Data Scientist with a strong background in statistics to help with data identification, curation and modeling. Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary experts and to be able to express his approach to data modeling in a clear and detailed manner to providing the Client-facing. Project Manager with clear understanding of how to present it to the Client.



Role Requirements

- Master´s degree in Economics/Econometrics/Statistics/Financial Economics or Bacheloк´s degree in the above with 2-3 years of experience
- Expert in Statistics and Data Analytics
- Comfortable dealing with large structured databases
- Can handle unstructured databases if needed
- At least one year of experience with any statistical software in a work environment (Python, MATLAB, SAS, STATA, R), in addition to strong knowledge of statistics acquired through university coursework
- Knowledge of machine learning methods and application to business a big plus, but not required
- Ability to think through data and modeling issues and offer pragmatic and viable solutions
- Comfortable writing and speaking in English
