Email Marketing Manager
About the Role
We're building one of the fastest-growing telehealth platforms in the weight loss space, and our marketing team is genuinely strong โ creative, in-house, and moving fast. The one gap we have is email, and we're done patching it with an agency. We need someone who owns this channel completely, top to bottom, and treats it like a core growth lever โ not a checkbox.
This is a senior individual contributor role. You'll be the entire email function. That means strategy, execution, QA, segmentation, performance, and iteration โ all yours.
What You'll Own
- Full lifecycle email program: acquisition, onboarding, retention, winback, transactional
- Campaign strategy and calendar across patient and prospect audiences
- Copywriting and creative direction (working with our in-house design team and Creative Director)
- Segmentation, A/B testing, and continuous optimization
- Deliverability monitoring and list hygiene
- Reporting and analysis โ you define the metrics that matter
Platform ownership (integrations, automations)
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on email marketing experience, with at least 2โ3 years owning the channel independently (not just executing someone else's strategy)
- Proven track record of building and scaling email programs from scratch or significantly improving underperforming ones โ with numbers to back it up
- Strong copywriting instincts; you know what a good subject line feels like and why it works
- Deep understanding of segmentation, behavioral triggers, and lifecycle logic
- Solid grasp of deliverability fundamentals (sender reputation, domain warming, spam filters)
- Experience with at least one major ESP (Klaviyo, Customer.io, or similar) at an admin/owner level
Comfortable with data โ you can pull your own reports, interpret them, and make decisions without waiting for an analyst
We will not consider candidates with less than 5 years of experience or candidates who have primarily worked in support/execution roles without strategic ownership.
This role requires someone who has run an email channel before โ not someone who wants to learn how.
Bonus Points
- Experience in DTC health, wellness, or subscription businesses
- Familiarity with HIPAA-adjacent communications or regulated industries
Experience replacing or transitioning away from an agency setup
