QA Engineer (Manual with Automation Basics)

Now we are continuing to grow and extend our team so we warmly invite an QA Engineer (Manual with Automation Basics) to our team in Dnipro city!
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive manual testing of web applications and microservices.
- Create, maintain, and update comprehensive test documentation, including Test Plans, Test Cases, and Checklists.
- Test REST APIs manually using Postman (creating collections, managing environments, and writing basic validation scripts).
- Run, maintain, and analyze results from existing automated test suites (built with Jest and Playwright).
- Gradually write basic automated tests and expand coverage under the guidance of automation experts.
- Perform static testing by reviewing business requirements and technical specifications to identify potential gaps or contradictions early in the SDLC.
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI and GitHub Actions), analyze automated test reports, and investigate failed builds.
- Analyze test results, report defects, track their resolution, and verify fixes.
- Work closely with Developers to reproduce bugs, analyze root causes using browser DevTools, and ensure high-quality releases.
- Ability to work in our Dnipro office required.
Technical Requirements:
- 1.5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, focusing heavily on manual web and API testing.
- Strong practical experience with Postman for API testing and a solid understanding of RESTful client-server architecture.
- Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, testing types, and test design techniques.
- Basic knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript (ability to read code, understand variables/functions, and write simple scripts).
- Understanding of UI automation concepts and a strong desire to learn and work with Playwright.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and a basic understanding of how CI/CD pipelines work.
- Extensive experience with Test Management Systems (TMS) and bug trackers (e.g., Jira).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Technical English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
Bonus Points:
- Previous hands-on experience writing automated tests (even at a beginner level) using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Familiarity with reading application logs (e.g. AWS, Grafana, or New Relic) to assist in bug localization.
