Senior Bentley BIM Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bentley BIM Engineer to serve as a key technical leader in delivering complex infrastructure BIM models. This role involves leading multidisciplinary 3D delivery, integrating complex datasets, and ensuring high-quality, standards-compliant outputs across large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead 3D Delivery
Develop, federate, and deliver multidisciplinary models (roads, rail, utilities) using OpenRoads Designer, OpenBuildings Designer, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
Integrate Complex Data
Combine reality capture data (LiDAR, drone surveys, ContextCapture), surveyed topography, and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) datasets into coordinated, clash-free models.
Drive Geospatial Accuracy
Manage coordinate systems, terrain surfaces, and utility quality levels (QL DโA) to ensure high-fidelity, construction-ready models.
Ensure Quality & Compliance
Act as the technical authority for QA/QC, clash detection, and compliance with ISO 19650. Ensure proper metadata integration and alignment with client BIM Execution Plans and delivery standards.
Mentor & Innovate
Guide and support junior modelers globally, enhance BIM workflows, and contribute to digital twin readiness within the Bentley Systems ecosystem.
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years in infrastructure BIM modeling
- 6+ years leading large-scale civil, rail, or utility projects
Bentley Expertise
- Advanced, hands-on experience with:
- OpenRoads Designer
- OpenBuildings Designer
- MicroStation CONNECT Edition
- iTwin Platform
Data & Collaboration
- Strong experience with ProjectWise
- Proven ability to produce and manage federated 3D models
Technical Knowledge
- Solid understanding of surveying, SUE workflows, and mapping standards
- Strong ability to interpret construction documents and shop drawings
Client & Standards Integration
- Experience defining asset data exchange requirements with clients
- Ability to integrate metadata and adapt models to client-specific standards
- Experience working with coordinate systems, grids, workspaces, worksets, and seed file standards
Nice-to-Have Skills
Workflow Optimization & Automation
- Strong Excel and Bluebeam Revu skills
- Experience with Python scripting or Bentley SDK
Cross-Platform Coordination
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Experience with Revit, Navisworks
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
Advanced Bentley Tools
- OpenRail, OpenUtilities Designer, OpenGround
- Generative Design workflows
Data & Reality Capture
- Photogrammetry and metadata management
- Automation and scripting experience
