Senior Data Architect / Team Lead (offline)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Architect who will be a significant part of creating a “service mesh” as a solution for the project.
Goals of the project:
— Develop a new data platform that would run on AWS and replace the legacy one.
This platform is expected to:
-Enable business analysts and data scientists to perform analysis to gain insights on customers, business operations, etc, as well as build forecasting and recommendation ML models, and perform A/B testing.
-Support zero-code acquisition and processing of a new data source, add features into the data and spin up new ML models in production.
-Have data curation capabilities, support the required levels of data resiliency and consistency, and be cost-effective and properly automated.
Requirements:
— Data architecture experience
— A clear understanding of ETL and data curation
— Proven experience in Spark, Kafka, and Stream
— Strong experience with AWS
— Strong understanding of streaming & functional programming
— Strong expertise in Java, Scala, SQL, and Python
— Good documentation skills
— Experience with continuous integration, test automation, and monitoring
— Experience in distributed systems design and best practices
— Experience in management
— Advanced / fluent written and spoken English
Desirable:
— Experience with Hive, Hadoop
— Experience in Tableau or other BI tools
— Experience in Presto and Adhoc analysis
Responsibilities:
— Work with the Director of Data Engineering to design the data platform
— Manage and guide software engineers during the development
— Systematically work on formalizing business processes, customer acquisition lifecycles, and the overall data framework
— Actively participate in the development

imvu.com is an online metaverse and the #1 avatar-based social network where people can register, create an avatar, and in a complete and rich virtual world have social interactions, play games, etc.
IMVU had over four million active users in 2014. The current number of active players is 6M+, and the site has a virtual goods catalog of more than 40 million items.
We are creating the next generation of VR social networks, based on a distributed, service-mesh-type architecture with underlying Java, MongoDB, GODOT engine, and other technologies, deployed via Kubernetes onto AWS and Google infrastructure.
