Release Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Release Manager to join our R&D team. This role will support the Release Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing software releases across multiple teams and environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-aware, and capable of handling communication and documentation across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced development environment.
Experience & Skills
- 1 year+ of experience in IT project coordination, release management, or similar roles
- Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release processes
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Experience with tools like Jira and Confluence is expected
- Experience with Coding is a plus
- Upper-intermediate level of English (both written and verbal)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proactive and willing to learn
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Release Manager in coordinating release activities and schedules across multiple teams
- Track and document release readiness and issue status
- Maintain and update release calendars, checklists, and documentation
- Support release planning, cutover, and deployment preparation activities
- Ensure communication of release plans, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders
- Help manage dependencies and align release deliverables with project milestones
- Collaborate with R&D stakeholders to ensure release quality and compliance
- Support preparation of internal and external reports related to releases and deployments
Department/Project Description
Broadband team works on 2nd generations of Harmonic (NASDAQ:HLIT) Cable Access products: actively developing the industry’s first software-based CCAP solution (“Cable OS”) and cloud native CMTS.
These solutions allow to cable operator companies to deliver the IP-based data, video, and voice services to millions of customers. Focus is given to CableOS which will allow to get rid of the existing HW equipment and to migrate to the cloud, saving customers the enormous expenses for the support of HW network equipment.
The system is based on microservice architecture and is running on the general purpose CPUs. It doesn’t require using ASICs and make possible to run the SW both on the bare metal servers as well as on the private cloud infostructure. CableOS is a pioneer in DOCSIS software defined networking (SDN) with all the benefits it gives to the service providers.
