Operational Support Engineer (offline)

Project Description:
In our Kiev office we are hiring for a high-tech innovative, dynamic and fast-paced Blockchain/Crypto-focused B2B project. Successful candidate will participate in delivery and support of the first institutional-grade solution with a product that's purpose-built for the technical nature of blockchains and cryptocurrencies.
The solution we build integrates with crypto exchanges, blockchains and crypto wallets to extract, enhance, monitor, and deliver financial data such as reporting, reconciliation, controls, and compliance to enterprise systems, and decision-makers.
The product solves accounting, audit and tax requirements for the middle and back office of crypto market participants including the top tier financial institutions, and other industry-leading blockchain and cryptocurrency companies.
Currently you have opportunity to join our rapidly growing development team of strong and experienced professionals in Kiev.
You will be also collaborating daily with the team of the client, which is based in the New York. Hence Upper-Intermediate plus English is a must.
You should be ready to work in shifts in order to support Kiev and US time zones.

While delivering a cutting edge, real-time, high volume, cryptocurrency and blockchain based solution, we use only modern technologies on our project, like Java 8, PostgreSQL, Angular 6, AWS, Dockers, Kubernetes, etc.

Current Kiev team structure: team of 7 back-end developers, 2 front-end developers, 4 QAs with the PgM leading the project.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and Maintain system and operational support
Should be willing to work in shifts. Approximate support hours: 12:00-20:00 and 16:00-24:00 Kiev time.
• Strong technical knowledge of SQL, Shell scripting and UNIX command line tools.
• Handle escalations to other teams as appropriate
• Able to drive/recommend solutions or workarounds to extended technology teams.
• Able to facilitate meetings in driving investigation of incidents and corrective actions follow-ups.
• Plan & execute UAT/PROD releases and post-releases activities.

• Maintain up-to-date monitoring on all applications, create/modify alerts to suit the app requirements in ELK, PGTAP, Jenkins and other tools.

• Perform infrastructure monitoring: CPU, DB issues and number of connections, Jenkins, Spring Batch Admin, different thresholds, etc.

• Raise and appropriate Incident or change ticket, track and drive the issue to the resolution

• Analyze and provide a resolution and workaround to business team requests and issues, as well as provide technical support to requests of system end-users.

• Serve as an expert in the application functionality, and a primary contact point for any technical and usage questions and issues.

• Monitor on exchange updates/maintenance/new API release notifications

• Support on delivery team requests (Dev and QA teams) to analyze, investigate, reproduce, document, and test applications, etc.

• Data reconciliation issues/mismatches analysis.

• Fill and maintain the application Knowledge Base, prepare How To articles and other documentation activities.
Mandatory Skills:
• Should be willing to work in shifts
• Upper-Intermediate plus English level
• 3+ years' experience as a Production/Operational/Technical Support Engineer
• Good SQL knowledge with Database knowledge (Oracle/Sybase/PostgreSQL) - 3+ years
• Good Unix knowledge - Commands, Shell scripting - 2+ years
• Experience with Release Management/Deployment/DevOps activities
• Experience in different operatinal systems like Unix /Solaris/ Windows
• Good Support Process - Incident Management, Problem and Change management
• Good Communication & Stakeholder management skills both written and oral
• CI tools (Jenkins)
Good experience with Jira, Confluence
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with cloud (AWS),
• Knowledge of the finance domain
• Experience with XML, JSON file formats
