Business Development Manager (Barcelona)
We’re actively looking for a Sales / Business Development Manager to join Teplin - a Shopify-focused digital agency.
This role is perfect for someone who feels confident in client communication, understands the service business model, and wants to shape processes - not just follow them.
Location: Barcelona (remote-friendly, but we want someone who can meet with our CEO for co-working, strategy sessions, and occasional events).
About the role
Your mission will be to ensure a stable flow of high-quality leads, primarily from Upwork, our website, and partner agencies - and turn them into long-term clients.
This is a high-impact role with a lot of autonomy and direct collaboration with the CEO.
Requirements
- 3+ years in IT/digital/e-commerce sales or BD.
- Strong experience communicating with EU/US clients.
- Solid Upwork experience (proposals, qualification, closing).
- Strong English (Upper-Intermediate+).
- Ability to estimate projects and structure proposals.
- Experience with CRM (HubSpot is a plus).
- Proactive, independent, and comfortable owning the process.
Nice-to-have
- E-commerce or Shopify knowledge.
- Strong presentation/demonstration skills.
Responsibilities
- Managing all inbound leads (Upwork, website, referrals).
- Updating and maintaining our presence on Upwork and Clutch (portfolio, bids, case studies).
- Prepare proposals, estimates & sales materials.
- Run discovery calls and qualify clients.
- Managing the entire sales cycle: lead → discovery → scoping → proposal → closing.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with other agencies (white-label, outsource).
- Maintain CRM pipeline & clean reporting.
- Contribute ideas for BD, new niches & packaged services.
- Joining conferences and networking events.
