Senior Power BI Engineer (Global Logistics)

We’re looking for a part‑time Senior Power BI Engineer to join a project for a global logistics company. You’ll own the BI lifecycle end‑to‑end: from data ingestion and modeling to governance in Power BI Service. The pace is fast, the customer is very dashboard‑driven, and the focus is on delivering visible improvements every week.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and dataflows.
• Build and optimize semantic models using DAX and TMDL.
• Audit and tune existing models with Tabular Editor 3 and DAX Studio.
• Develop ETL in Power Query (M); use SQL where needed for data preparation.
• Set up and support source control & CI/CD for Power BI assets (Git, Azure DevOps).
• Improve collaborative development workflows using ALM Toolkit and XMLA endpoints.
• Transform UI/UX mockups (Figma or similar) into clean, usable Power BI reports.
• Manage Power BI Service governance: workspaces, roles, RLS, access and distribution.
• Work closely with client and internal team, refine requirements, deliver incrementally.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience with Power BI in production / enterprise environments.
• Strong DAX and data modeling skills (star schema, calculation groups, aggregations).
• Hands‑on experience with Power Query (M); SQL – strong plus.
• Experience with TMDL, XMLA, Tabular Editor 3, DAX Studio.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of BI governance: security, workspace structure, deployment flows.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders, ability to explain technical decisions in clear language.
• English — Upper‑Intermediate+ (calls with international team).

Nice to have

• Domain experience in logistics / supply chain / operations analytics.
• Experience with Figma or other UI/UX tools, attention to report design and UX.
• Experience with the Azure data stack (Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse, etc.).
