Web Developer (WordPress, PHP, JavaScript)

You will work alongside our Lead Developer to support ongoing projects, implement custom solutions, and ensure consistent coverage during core business hours. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thinking proactively, and contributing ideas - not just executing tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot custom WordPress functionality (themes, plugins, integrations).
  • Collaborate with our Lead Developer to extend existing features and build new solutions.
  • Provide reliable support during core hours (8 AM–12 PM Arizona Time) with flexible scheduling for remaining hours.
  • Communicate proactively about technical challenges, risks, and solutions.
  • Suggest improvements and alternative approaches rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Maintain high-quality, clean, and secure code.
  • Assist with QA testing, bug fixes, and performance optimization.
  • Document work clearly and consistently.

Requirements

  • Experience working collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Reliable availability during 8 AM–12 PM Arizona Time.
  • Strong experience with WordPress development, including custom coding (PHP, JS, HTML, CSS).
  • Familiarity with WordPress hooks, the template hierarchy, REST API, and plugin architecture.
  • Solid understanding of databases (MySQL) and hosting/server environments.
  • Excellent written English; clear and understandable verbal English.
  • Ability to think critically, independently, and proactively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to discuss options and recommend solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with custom integrations (APIs, external platforms).
  • Experience with Elementor, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Git and version control best practices.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative environment with a Lead Developer for support and mentorship.
  • A steady stream of meaningful, varied projects.
  • Flexibility outside of core hours.
  • Long-term stability and growth opportunities.
  • Paid PPO and Winter Holidays.
  • Paid Education Courses and Tools.
